Quick Response Audits (QRA)
(February 10, 2006)
Quick Response Audits are single-issue audits that have limited objectives, and are conducted within a short time frame, as opposed to a complete evaluation of all Customs activities within a company.
Some examples of a QRA might be an audit of a company’s customs operations to determine if there is a potential for unlawful transshipment, or an audit of a company’s controls concerning intellectual property rights. Other issues targeted may be agriculture, antidumping duty (ADD)/countervailing duty (CVD), or special preferential programs.
Some QRA’s originate from referrals from other CBP disciplines utilizing risk management to identify specific companies involved in certain types of transactions.
Any importer may be subject to a QRA and CBP is increasing its use of this tool.
The Deringer Logistics Consulting Group stands ready to assist exporters/importers with these audits. For more information regarding this advisory, please call 518-297-3511, or email us at
