A seasoned logistics professional with a comprehensive knowledge of US Customs regulations, Darlene DiBernardo assists importers in the review and update of their Customs related policies and procedures to comply with the Reasonable Care Standards mandated by the Customs Modernization Act. Over the past several years Darlene has been a featured speaker for Deringer's Lunchtime Webinar Series as well as compliance workshops held throughout North America.
Ms. DiBernardo holds a degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York. Entering the field of international trade over 25 years ago, Darlene became a licensed US Customs Broker in 1982. Throughout her impressive logistics career, Darlene has held a variety of positions including Regional Manager for a nationally known Customs brokerage firm, and was an officer in the Association of International Border Agencies.
Furthermore, Darlene is a recognized expert in tariff classification and valuation, is an accomplished audit and disclosure team leader, and has lectured at numerous International Business forums. She has been deeply involved with NAFTA, including publicly speaking on the subject, conducting internal reviews, and aiding companies in setting up NAFTA as well as other trade compliance programs. Since its inception, Darlene has likewise been focused on the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism program, where she has been instrumental in helping numerous importers become certified. She currently is based out of Rouses Point, New York.
