Harmonized Tariff Schedules
US Harmonized Tariff Schedule
Goods bound for import to or export from the US must be classified using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) of the United States and the US Schedule B. The applicable Schedule B number must be used to classify goods on the Electronic Export Information (EEI) transmitted to AES. To avoid fines and/or penalties, proper classification is required on shipping documentation to facilitate the smooth transit of goods into and out of the country.
Antidumping and Countervailing Duty Orders (AD/CVD)
There are two sources available for finding information regarding AD/CVD. US Customs and Border Protection offers an online searchable database called ADD CVD Search. The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) also provides a list of AD and CVD orders in Excel format. This reference allows users to sort by country, date of order, general product group, and the case grouping. The USITC list comprises known AD/CVD actions at a point in time.
Canada Tariff Schedule
Goods bound for import to Canada must be classified using the Canada Tariff Schedule. Access to the General Rules for the Interpretation of the Harmonized System are useful in the proper utilization of this Tariff Schedule.
