District Manager, LCB & CCS
Throughout his 30-year tenure with Deringer, Gary has managed over a dozen key Deringer facilities. His broad experience and depth of knowledge surrounding Deringer’s procedures, resources, and service offerings position him as an adept leader, providing strong direction to some of Deringer’s most critical customer service centers including Boston, Hartford, Chicago, Cincinnati, Houston, Seattle, and three locations in Maine. Moreover, Gary’s experience supporting Deringer’s operational centers that are in transition—those that are rescaling, reorganizing, or retooling to meet market demands—help him to lead from a broad and grounded perspective.
Gary started his Deringer career in the Calais, ME, customer service center. After showing a natural propensity for leadership, he attended Deringer’s intensive management training program from 1991 to 1992, and then earned his individual Customs Brokerage License. Additionally, Gary has held the designation of Certified Customs Specialist since the program’s inception.
He has managed Deringer’s Detroit, Blaine, Hartford, Champlain, Houston, Chicago and other facilities, and even provided oversight of Deringer’s IT Department for a short period of time. Later in his career, as project manager of a vitally important internal project, Gary ensured the growth of Deringer’s freight forwarding division. His project management skills, attention to compliance, and hands-on experience bring a unique, well-rounded outlook to the leadership team.
