According to CSMS 49296457, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced an adjustment of certain COBRA Customs user fees and limitations for the Fiscal Year 2022, required as of October 1, 2021.
A complete list of these fees and the methodology used in determining them can be found in the Federal Register 86 FR 40864 (published July 29, 2021). A few relevant examples are found below.
- Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) for Formal Entry (499): Minimum changed to $27.75, and the maximum to $538.40
- Informal Entry or Release; automated and not prepared by CBP (311): Changed to $2.22
- Manual Entry or Release Surcharge (500): Changed to $3.33
- Dutiable Mail Fee (496): Changed to $6.11
