Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to enhance information collection for low-value (de minimis) shipments. The proposed Entry of Low-Value Shipments (ELVS) rule aims to improve supply chain visibility and help CBP better interdict illegal shipments, including drugs and counterfeit goods. The rule will require additional data elements and create a fully electronic process for entry data transmission.
