In February, the US International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that antidumping/countervailing duties (AD/CVD) would no longer be imposed on fabricated structural steel (FSS) from China, Canada, and Mexico. The USITC confirmed the determination for Canada-origin FSS with a Federal Register notice, which provides a negative final judgment in the antidumping duty investigation of “certain fabricated structural steel from Canada.”
Since January 30th, 2020, US Customs and Border Protection was suspending liquidation of entries of FSS; however, these entries will now be liquidated without being subject to antidumping duties. According to Customs ADD Message 0080406, dated March 20, 2020, antidumping duties deposited on entries, since January 30th, will be refunded along with “bonds or other security released.”
