Full implementation of the US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) message set in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) will be delayed until March 2021, according to CSMS 44749998, published by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on November 9, 2020. “FWS is still in the process of formulating regulations requiring the utilization of ACE to submit import data for FWS regulated commodities, and currently expects enforcement of mandatory submission in ACE to take effect in March 2021.” The announcement indicated that a future CSMS would be sent, providing the specific date that filing becomes mandatory.
CBP recommends filers submit the FWS message set data in ACE now if they have the capability. For additional information about the message set, visit CBP’s ACE CATAIR page and scroll down to the PGA Message Set section.
