The EPA requires specific information to be transmitted during the entry of a vehicle or engine into the US. Examples of required data for a vehicle’s import include year of manufacture; make, mode and year of vehicle; type of fuel required for the vehicle, etc. To import an engine, required data points include engine and ignition type, engine power and/or displacement; first year the engine was manufactured; intended use, etc. This fee is incurred on entries that require the verification and transmission of this date to the EPA.
