The International Trade Administration is proposing to amend the informational requirements for steel licenses. These licenses are required for entries of steel into the US, under the Steel Import Monitoring and Analysis (SIMA) System. The proposal will require the identification of the country where the steel was melted and poured and would also increase the value on low-value steel licenses from $250 to $5,000. Furthermore, the rule would extend the program’s expiration date.
