ST. ALBANS, VT, April 22, 2016 – Federal Maritime Commissioner (FMC) Rebecca F. Dye recently invited Mark Hirzel, Los Angeles District Manager at A.N. Deringer, Inc., to join the soon-to-be launched FMC Supply Chain Innovation Team initiative. As a member of this team, Mark will work alongside 30 industry professionals to collaboratively address some of the biggest challenges of logistics today. The Innovation Team is comprised of ocean transportation intermediaries, such as Deringer, port officials, ocean carriers, marine terminal operators, truckers, importers, exporters, chassis providers, and railroad representatives.
The professionals on the project will engage one another to address supply chain scenarios, including reliability, visibility, resilience, and other concerns. Commissioner Dye will introduce the project and the teams will meet for the first time on May 3, 2016.
Mark commented, “This is an exciting opportunity to work with other industry professionals to develop interesting and innovative supply chain ideas. With many facets of the supply chain represented at one table, we will have access to each other and be able to dig deeper—finding creative solutions to obstacles commonly faced today.”
