Ocean carriers are proposing a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) on US/Canada bound cargo from Far East and Indian origins. The PSS is anticipated on June 15, 2016. In the US/Canada, a previous General Rate Increase (GRI) took effect as scheduled on June 1, 2016, and the next anticipated GRI is scheduled for July 1, 2016 (Deringer has observed present GRI rates fluctuating between $150-$600 depending on service/carrier and container size).
