The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 375 has planned a 72-hour strike at the Termont terminals at the Port of Montreal. The strike is planned for August 3, 2020, at 7:00 AM through August 7, 2020, at 6:59 AM. Both the Viau and Maisonneuve terminals are being targeted.
Following other recent transportation strikes at the port, the Montreal Port Authority advised “there will be no operations in any of their terminals (Cast, Maisonneuve, Racine and Viau Terminals) on Friday, July 31.” Operations are scheduled to resume tomorrow, August 1, 2020.
Deringer will continue to advise on labor actions at the port. If you have specific questions about your shipments, please contact a Deringer service center.
