ST. ALBANS, VT (June 18, 2024) – It is with great privilege A.N. Deringer, Inc. announces two of their senior leaders received achievements for their longstanding efforts in the world of international trade. Sandra “Sandy” Langford-Coty, Director of Operational Development, was awarded the Marjorie M. Shostak Distinguished Service award by the Foreign Trade Association (FTA) in May 2024. Amy Magnus, Director of Customs Affairs and Compliance, was bestowed the AAEI Trade Warrior award by the American Association of Exporters & Importers (AAEI) in June 2024.
The Marjorie M. Shostak Distinguished Service award acknowledges an individual who is consistently demonstrating their commitment to the Southern California’s international trade community. Founded in 1919, the FTA’s mission is to promote, foster, and encourage international commerce and economic growth in Southern California and worldwide.
Langford-Coty, the recipient of the Marjorie M. Shostak Distinguished Service award, strengthens Deringer’s operational efficiencies and compliance as well as increasing customer satisfaction. Alongside her work at Deringer, she serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association (LACBFFA), Committee Chair of the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA), and President of the Pacific Coast Council of Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association. Additionally, she is active within the US Customs and Border Protection’s Trade Support Network and Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC) working groups. She holds extensive expertise with ACE and partner government agencies (PGA). Langford-Coty is a Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) and a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS).
The AAEI Trade Warrior award recognizes leaders of international trade, and is deemed the organization’s highest honor. For more than 100 years, AAEI has worked to promote efficiency, economy, and professionalism in global trade.
Magnus, the recipient of the inaugural AAEI Trade Warrior award, oversees Customs compliance and regulatory matters at Deringer, while also serving as the District Manager to one of Deringer’s busiest Customer Service Centers located in Champlain, New York. Magnus plays an instrumental role in the formation of new policies and procedures, as well as in the dissemination of regulatory information to U.S. importers. She was appointed to the 14th and 15th terms of the Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (COAC), where she addresses international trade challenges between business and government.
