Wildfires in Southern California have begun impacting logistics in the region. So far, the wildfires have burned approximately 60,000 to 100,000 acres. High winds and extremely dry conditions are attributed to the blaze. Some sources say the fires could have an impact on peak season logistics for supply chains that include Southern California.
The California Department of Transportation is reporting closures on main highways in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, preventing truck transportation from reaching destinations. Parts of State Routes 150 and 33, as well as many city and county roads, are partially or fully closed. Additionally, residents in some areas have been forced to evacuate their homes.
Deringer will continue to provide updates regarding the wildfires. If you have questions regarding a specific shipment, please contact a Deringer service center.
