The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has confirmed that the temporary suspension of the ISPM-15 hyphen requirement for Wood Packaging Material (WPM) ends December 31, 2025.

Effective January 1, 2026:
• All WPM must fully comply with the ISPM-15 marking standard, including the hyphen separating the country code and facility code.
• No soft enforcement period will be provided.
APHIS clarified that enforcement will begin immediately on January 1. Please ensure your WPM markings meet the standard to avoid delays or penalties.
