Agri-Food Export Group: Food Safety Modernization Act and the Implications for Exporters
October 14, 2015 @ 12:00 am
Bringing food and food related goods into the US can be quite complicated. After all, it is a privilege not a right. Companies exporting food to the US must comply with the legal requirements and constraints set forth by US governing agencies, such as US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). As a guest speaker on behalf of Groupe Export agroalimentaire/Agri-Food Export Group, Mike Lahar, Deringer’s Corporate Compliance Manager, will be providing an overview of the US import requirements relating to food, including food facility registration, recordkeeping requirements, FDA and USDA inspection procedures, and the changes that can be expected under the Food Safety Modernization Act.
