CPSC Workshop on Electronic Filing of Certificates
September 18, 2014 @ 12:00 am
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) staff is holding a workshop on aspects of the Commission’s proposed rule on Certificates of Compliance (certificates), which the Commission published on May 13, 2013. Among other things, the Commission proposed to require electronic filing of certificates for regulated imported consumer products with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the time of filing the CBP entry or the time of filing the entry and entry summary, if both are filed together. The workshop will focus on this aspect of the proposed rule. We invite interested parties to participate in, or attend the workshop, and to submit written comments through October.
The workshop includes a morning panel of representatives from various government agencies and stakeholders. Deringer’s corporate Compliance Manager, Mike Lahar, will be serving on the panel to discuss Deringer’s perspective on the Pilot.
The free-of-charge workshop will be held at the Hearing Room at CPSC’s headquarters at 4330 East West Highway, Bethesda, MD 20814. The workshop will be held between 9am and 4pm ET and a recorded version will also be available for those not able to attend. Registration for the live workshop is due by September 5, 2014, and there is no registration deadline for the recorded webinar.
