On December 31, 2025, President Trump signed a proclamation delaying the anticipated Section 232 tariff increases on imports of upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets, and vanities for another year. Under the original September 29, 2025 proclamation, these increases were scheduled to take effect at 12:01 a.m. ET on January 1, 2026.
The current 25% import tariff on certain upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets, and vanities, imposed under the September 25, 2025 proclamation, remains in effect.
