Ania Wierzbowska-Fuller
Our Trade Advisory Group (TAG) leader, Ania Wierzbowska-Fuller, has over 20 years of leadership and client relationship management experience in various industries. Ania holds an MBA degree from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). She became a Licensed US Customs Broker in 2015.
Ania spent nearly 12 years with Target Corporation including 5 years at Target’s Global Trade Services (GTS) in numerous leadership roles.
Ania was responsible for duty savings strategies including Target’s First Sale Program, as well as facilitating execution of their Importer Self-Assessment (ISA) Program. She worked with internal partners and with foreign vendors to maximize duty savings, to assure vendor compliance with US Customs laws and regulations and to provide training to overseas teams and suppliers. Ania’s team was responsible for import compliance, post entry amendments, regulatory analysis and resolution of detentions and admissibility issues.
Ania specializes in risk assessment and import compliance. She leads the Trade Advisory Group and uses her expertise to help our clients develop comprehensive and effective compliance programs that withstand the fast pace changes of today’s international trade environment.
Anne Jordanek
Anne Jordanek entered the field of International Trade over thirty-two years ago and became a Licensed US Customs Broker in 1994. Anne has held various positions throughout her career with a nationally recognized Customs Brokerage firm before moving into the position of President with Duty Refund Services in 2000. When Duty Refund Services merged with A. N. Deringer, she joined the Deringer Logistics Consulting Group (currently known as the Trade Advisory Group), where she now directs the Drawback Department for the Deringer organization. She is a member of the drawback committees for the American Association of Exporters and Importers (AAEI) as well as the National Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association (NCBFAA). She holds a degree in Business Administration and a minor degree in science. Ms. Jordanek currently is based out of Romulus, Michigan.
Tammy Hetrick
Tammy Flanders Hetrick is a Licensed Customs Broker with 30 years of international trade and logistics experience. She started her logistics career at CBP (when it was the US Customs Service!) where she worked in the Fines, Penalties, and Forfeitures division in the District of St. Albans, Vermont. During which time, she performed various assignments in Washington, DC, and the on the southern border. She then moved to the private sector to establish best-in-class compliance programs for the largest snowboard company in the world and for an innovative coffee and appliance company.
In addition to US compliance, she has set up compliance programs in Canada, Europe, and Japan. She is a known entity in the compliance field, speaking at conferences across the US, in Brussels, and annually at MIT/Boston. Beyond compliance, Ms. Hetrick has extensive international logistics experience, standing up bonded warehouses in Europe and Asia, activating and operating foreign trade zones, and negotiating ocean transportation contracts. She has shepherded companies through ISA and CTPAT certifications and validations, CBSA audits, European Customs audits, and Japanese Customs audits. Currently, she helps various companies navigate the labyrinth of Customs compliance while leveraging their customs acumen as a competitive advantage well beyond the border.
Amy Lauziere
A Licensed Customs Broker and Certified Customs Specialist, Amy brings nearly 10 years of US import experience to Deringer’s Trade Advisory Group. Beginning her import career at Deringer in 2010 at the Highgate, VT office as an Import Specialist, Amy has also held a position in the Transportation department. Amy has been a key contact for multiple companies providing expertise in tariff classification, Antidumping and Countervailing, Partnering Government Agencies, Import and ACE message set requirements, and entry auditing. Amy also worked in the private sector as an Import Compliance Specialist for a leading glove manufacturing company developing Internal Trade Compliance processes, broker entry auditing and a classification database. As a member of the Trade Advisory Group, Amy has a dedication to import compliance and works to assist importers navigate US Customs and Border Protection’s regulations and import requirements.
Kim Caywood-Pierce
An accomplished international trade professional, Kim Caywood-Pierce has been a member of the Deringer Team for over 25 years. Kim joined Deringer in 1993 after obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Business & Economics at SUNY Plattsburgh. In 2002, she earned her US Customs Broker license. While acting as a commodity Import Specialist, her major areas of focus were textiles, footwear, watches, plastics, pulp and paper, and stone products. She was also involved with implementing Deringer’s key account management program.
As a member of the Deringer Trade Advisory Group since 2006, Kim has worked with clients on an international level to analyze products, policies, and procedures to ensure they satisfy the ever-changing import requirements enforced by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Kim is recognized for her ability to build long-term relationships with clients, allowing for a streamlined evolution of program updates as they relate to CBP’s rules and regulations. Areas of expertise include CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism), tariff classification under the harmonized tariff schedule of the United States (HTSUS), NAFTA/USMCA, protests, and prior disclosures, to name a few.
Laura Oliver
Laura Oliver joined the Deringer Trade Advisory Group in October 2021. She started her career working for a Customs brokerage firm in high school, learning the import processes and creating bills of lading for export. She worked in intermodal trucking for eight years before returning to Customs brokerage as an Import Coordinator in 2001.
Laura has worked with companies importing multiple commodities, including ceramic tiles and stone, wine, foodstuffs, chemicals, agricultural machinery and parts, bottling and canning machine parts, and heavy equipment. She has experience working with partnering government agencies, including FDA, DOT, EPA, and USDA/APHIS.
In 2011, Laura became a Licensed Customs Broker and moved through the ranks to Branch Manager, overseeing an office handling both imports and exports. She received certification as a Customs Specialist and Export Specialist during her tenure as a Branch Manager and strives to keep on top of the latest industry regulations and trends. She also served on the board of a local Customs brokers association in the role of secretary for two years and as Customs committee chair for two years.
Laura has extensive experience researching and determining HTS classifications, assisting clients in determining AD/CVD applicability, creating SOPs, and doing post-entry work.
