US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has worked closely with the Department of Homeland Security, the Border Interagency Executive Council, and the White House to actively track and assess stakeholder readiness for the mandatory filing of all electronic entries and corresponding entry summaries in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). While CBP has observed significant progress being made, “continued concerns about stakeholder readiness have necessitated an updated timeline for the mandatory transition to ACE.” The updated approach to mandatory filing is still expected to align with CBP’s December 2016 deadline for full implementation of ACE.
For additional information about ACE, please send an email to compliance@anderinger.com. The ACE transition schedule (including entry/entry summary type definitions) for all electronic manifest fillings is available on the Customs and Border Protection website.
