Shenzhen’s Yantian Port, one of the busiest ports in China, has closed its export operations due to congestion and a recent Coronavirus outbreak. The closure began on May 25th and will continue through May 30th.
Imports and empty container movements are still operating as normal, and the port will start to accept export containers on May 31st. The export suspension is expected to cause an increase in congestion, space and equipment challenges, and delays in the upcoming weeks.
Deringer will continue to monitor this situation. If you have any questions about the impact of this closure on a particular shipment, please reach out to the Deringer Customer Service Center managing your shipments.
