For fiscal year 2020, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will adjust Customs user fees and limitations in response to inflation calculations. In accordance with the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act (FAST Act), the minimum merchandise processing fee (MPF) will increase from $26.22 to $26.79 and the maximum will be raised from $508.70 to $519.76; the ad valorem MPF rate will remain unchanged. The increase will be effective October 1, 2019, which is the first day of CBP’s fiscal year. Additional affected fees include vessel, truck, and rail arrival fees; Customs broker permit user fees, and others as found in a Federal Register notice dated August 2nd.
