Beginning in March, Mediterranean Shipping Co. (MSC) will be removing the port of Boston from its MedUSEC and MedGulf loops. The ocean carrier cited faster transit times from continental Europe to the East Coast, including to the ports of Baltimore, Norfolk, Savannah, and Charleston. Additionally, the ports of La Spezia, Italy, and Miami will be added to the eastbound leg and Algeciras, Spain, to the westbound leg.
With MSC’s MedGulf rotation, transit time from Sines to the US East Coast is ten days, but the changes will provide a transit time of seven days. Deringer will continue to monitor MSC’s routings. If you have questions regarding specific shipments, please contact a Deringer service center.
