Following President Biden’s proclamation on May 27, 2022, a one-year suspension of Section 232 duties on imports of steel articles and derivative steel articles from Ukraine will be implemented. Such products will not be subject to additional duties under HTSUS subheadings 9903.80.01 and 9903.80.03 from 12:00 AM on June 1, 2022, through 11:59 PM on June 1, 2023.
Ukraine steel entered into a U.S. Foreign Trade Zone with “privileged foreign status” before June 1, 2022, will be subject upon entry for consumption made on or after 12:01 AM eastern daylight time on June 1, 2022, to the 25% rate of duty as referenced in Proclamation 9705.
