We are pleased to inform you that the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) have reached a tentative six-year Master Contract agreement, pending ratification by both parties. Until the new contract is ratified, operations will continue under the current agreement.
This new contract ensures the protection of existing ILA jobs and introduces a framework for new technologies that will create additional employment opportunities. It also focuses on modernizing East and Gulf coast ports to enhance safety, efficiency, and capacity, thereby strengthening our supply chains.
This agreement is a significant achievement, preventing any work stoppage on January 15, 2025, and reinforcing the American economy’s vital role in the global market.
Details of the agreement will be shared once the ratification process is complete. For more information, you can view the joint statement released by the ILA and USMX.
