Labor contract negotiations for the West Coast Port Worker Union have been ongoing since May 10, 2022. The parties continue to negotiate without a contract in place. While there was some press in July about a tentative agreement on health/benefits, the parties have not made much progress on other issues.
It is unclear when a new agreement may be reached, but it likely won’t be soon. There have been some limited disruption issues and potentially one on the way that could impact some terminals at the Ports of LA/LB due to an unrelated strike issue. The administration continues to keep a close eye on the negotiations and is in weekly conversations with the parties.
